The open bottom design allows excess moisture to drain away from plant roots and prevent rot. Place on any flat surface, but for larger plants, place directly on ground soil so large roots will be able to spread deeper in the ground. If you have ground pests like moles and voles, add a wire mesh screen or landscape fabric to the bottom to keep them out. Grow more successfully with the benefits of raised beds. Assembly required.
